It is already night time by then. The only places that'll be active will be SHOPPING!! :)

Purposely left shopping for night time.

This time I chose to walk from the museum to the green lands on monopoly LOL

Actually by now, I'm already floating around like a zombie -_- haven't rested since touched down in Stansted Airport. My plan was to walk along Oxford then turned to Regent then Piccadilly Circus before hopping on a train to meet Celdrick for dinner. Drizzling. ugh.

Takes a deep breathe* THIS IS LADIES' HEAVEN! aaaahhhhhhh...slurpss*

One thing a little turned off though. This place is too commercialized (DUH!) but imagine H&M or MNG appear twice or thrice on the same street.. ain't that too much? -_- They really thought of improving the convenience of people able to access their shops within short distance. Also, if u changed your mind & want to get that dress, you could just keep walking down the street and get it there.

Xmas decor is still there in January :) Love the star. However I thought they could do better with the decorations though..

I noticed in London, the lighting is cast on the building facade so that tourists can take brilliant night photos without over exposure :) probably happen everywhere just that I didn't pay attention about it until now.

So happy to land myself in a toy shop. EHEM multi-storey okay!? smug*

This store has been running since 250 years ago! There's magic performance in Hamleys lol and long time no see bubbles!!! :) I still remember u need to squeeze a little from the metal tube & covered it on a tiny straw then blow it. ah! childhood memories.

76 euros for a teddy bear as big as your hand???? Are you for real?!!?

So the teddy bears are filled with gold dust instead of cotton..

Wanted to watch a theatre show, esp. the Phantom of the Opera & Lion King but time is too limited! :( Next time next time.

One of the busiest intersections in London: Piccadilly Circus, for vehicles & pedestrians.

The train station is directly underneath this circus. wtf Eros & the fountain is under restoration. can't catch a glimpse of it. Time for dinner!!!!!

LONDON: Sir John Soane's Museum

The British Museum took up half a day. Needs to be more time efficient during winter time because the sky gets dark by 4-5 pm. cheebs. Took the train to Soho district to visit Sir John Soane's Museum. Soho district is a commercial area with a few tv stations there, so u'd be lucky to bump into stars :)

Sir John Soane's Museum used to be his house when he was alive. Why am I in Sir John Soane's Museum? Every architecture friend recommends this place. He is the master of light and space. It's a pity that no photos are to be taken in this museum.

I'll just briefly talk thru then.

SPACE

In such a small & tight space, he is able to fit all his art collections in this house. Imagine a petite Victorian terrace house, corridors could fit one person only. The brilliant part of this house is his design of a cupboard that could flip open like a book with many pages to store his painting collections. The basement of the house is his storage of sculptures and the like - too cramp though. A lot of his spaces has an interstitial space, so it gives the depth of a space within a space.

LIGHT

Coloured tainted glass are chosen specifically to suit the sunlight of London. Different glass are also used to create the ambiance of each room. Mirrors are also used to play with illusions. His tiny dining room has mirrors to expand the room. Not only that, the awkward cornered stairs has mirror to reflect what is happening in the room opposite it.

Highly recommended. Nothing more rewarding than a brilliant and delicately designed work. Must visit here when you are in London.

LONDON: train station

Since I had spoken about the train station like a labyrinth, I might as well do a post about it :)

err... which tunnel should I enter? -_-

"mind the gap" is a famous saying among Londoners because of this.

The gap between the train and the platform is irregular wtf Might be a wide or tight gap, depending on the curve of the platform. Wide I meant your whole body will fit into the gap. Sometimes the platform is higher than the train, sometimes lower than the train, depending on the stations -_-"

Another thing that amazes me is also the long never ending elevator. I think if you excavate the whole London Tube, the grandeur of scale would not lose to Pompeii -_-

Poor man stuck in a small kiosk lol it could literally fit one person in there.

LONDON: British Museum

Next, British Museum.
Any architecture student who happened to be in London would have to visit the British Museum because the infamous steel structured roof by Norman Foster, is in there. I just had to experience the space that I see so much on photos :)

exterior

The formal expression of the museum represents the antiquity and massive collection of the museum. The Ionic columns of the museum tell that the museum is based on the Greek style. There are a lot of buildings like these, looking forward to imitate the Greek style in hope to reach unbelievable achievements in civilization like the Greeks of their time.

interior

Despite the stark exterior, once entered the museum, the interior becomes like a xanadu - a total different atmosphere. I'm in awe with the magical quality created by this skylight. Norman Foster is genius! I actually spent some time walking around the museum under this skylight.

I love the idea of walking into a formal antique building and be enlightened by a diffuse light has dramatic effects to it. Also because of the parametric geometry pattern created, the structure seemed to be always in movement. A good design to me is a simple gesture to achieve the maximum poetics of a space.

Ok. Enough of the architecture part.

The museum is HUGE. Don't even know where to begin with! Plus, I'm not that into history in general -_-

The museum has many many rooms (like a typical palace) You'd be able to walk from one room to another then to another. The journey is never ending -_- From Mesopotamia to Greek to Roman to China to India to Easter Island to Egyptian. Name it! They have it!

I managed to tag along a guided tour in the Egyptian section.

"speak my name, and I shall live forever" is the saying that shows the importance of name to an Egyptian. In each clay tablet, the name of the Egyptian will appear many times to claim that it is his property for his afterlife. I've actually learnt more listening to her than walking around like a blind bat.

Timed myself to spend only 2 hours in this museum. Need to strategically spend my time, only have 2 days in London before I head off to Paris! ^^

LONDON: Westminster

Westminster is where the administration of England are located. Big Ben, House of Parliament, Eye of London, does it ring a bell? :) This place is loaded with tourists, you can't miss this place because it is the epitome of England power. There is an air of lightness because Prince Williams & Kate Middleton had just announced their wedding. haha don't know. I just assume.

It was really chilly wtf, comparable to Melbourne winter. -_- hate returning to winter again (North & South hemisphere is the opposite so I've just been thru winter in Melbourne) Had to take shelter in a cafe. Oh well, might as well have some breakfast ;) nothing beats a cup of warm coffee mmm

Totally understand why they needed red for most icons. The weather is always grey & gloomy. Even the buildings are damp and grey too.

Eye of London

Taking a picture of it just for the sake of it. shrugs* Had a quick stroll along the embankment. If not because of this motto "you are already here, you must embrace every opportunity", I would have curled myself in bed instead of walking around like an enthusiastic mad woman.

Oh yes! On the way from airport to city, I was able to catch a glimpse of the Olympic 2012 site :) Zaha Hadid's Aquatic centre is so visible. Most of the main buildings are almost completed.

Typical morning of London starts at 7am. The city gets busy at wee hours. Hardworking nay?

LONDON: arrived

After 14 hours of direct flight from KL to London, the first thing was to wake myself to conscious level -_-

sleeping on and off for 14 hours is draining my energy, not to mention the different time zone. The custom officer had to ask 812973392 questions that requires an IQ 200 brain.

Nevertheless my adrenaline rush is pouring because this signifies my first time embarking on a journey alone :)

yay!

Airports are massive so I wandered around to search for a bus to get to the city & figuring out the transport system. Saw another lost soul wandering around too (yes! that can be my target for company!) fail..she was even more lost than me -_- shit I needed to get to the city in time to meet Celdrick before he went to work but the counters are not opened yet.

blabla..reached city. Now, this is when the nightmare starts. An old city like this, depending on the age of the train stations, may have winding stairs and a spam of them. I had 2 dragging luggage with me. wtf

The train stations are 3-4 storeys beneath the London city. It is like an underground labyrinth of the medieval era.

Hearing and seeing so much about London since young, the city is more familiar than any other cities. This is the birthplace of colonial buildings and names of places in monopoly.

Celdrick's neighbourhood

Thankfully I have a bunch of close friends in London. First time meeting him ever since we've all graduated and parted different ways to pursue further education. All of them are in architecture, yes, which means they are at their finals and wouldn't be able to meet up. cheebs. Anyway I was late from carrying my luggages up and down in the train stations lol.

It was a chilly morning and I'm still drained from the flight. However, to beat the jet lag, I left his house immediately to visit the city. The transportation system is similar to Melbourne. BUT beware of the black line, it's the train that slowly rock its way to destinations. ugh.

Trains are colour coded according to their line, so you'd know you took the right train.

First stop, Westminster.

I hope all the bad incidents have passed by now..

After a storm, the sun will eventually appear right?

Never before have I met such a huge obstacle in my life. It does give a big blow to my confidence.

But I'm glad that I emerge as a stronger person and know that I have really good friends that stick through thick and thin with me. They are the people I will treasure for life.

I truly understand the meaning behind "at the end of the rainbow is a pot of gold". Thus, to get to the pot of gold, obstacles will definitely happen along the way.

Thanks to my family for being there all the time. Thanks to all my friends who tried to cheer me up and encourage me. Thanks to FF for listening out and being supportive.

The days when I was busy planning the trips to Europe & shifting house felt like yesterday.

Now is just busy preparing for presentation on next Wednesday.

and so... i decided to go stuttgart yay!

y is my life so busy with unnecessary things?

went with max, gerald, zen to der raum at east richmond
apparently it's the 3rd best bar in the world (couldn't be bothered to check out now)

we were luck that der raum was empty because it's a tuesday :p

hopped off the train, we walked along church st in search of der raum
this bar despite of its fame, is very intimate & unimposing
it was easy to walked past without noticing it because we thought it would be a large, glamourous bar that matches its '3rd world's best bars in the world' title

der raum has strictly German beer, also offers award-winning cocktails, also long-lost recipes of alcohols
most of the cocktails are invented from the Melbourne Temperance Society
every month they will change the cocktail menu, so never worry that u will get bored of its menu!
this art of classic cocktail making could be felt from tasting its cocktails, unlike the mass produced conventional cocktails that will appear in every bar

did some easy ones for daily wear
omg when can they finish so that i can buy new ones? :p

ingredients today...

NATIO sparkle dust, RIMMEL London quad eyeshadow (smokey blue),
COULEURS NATURE 3-in-1 eye pencil (brown), COULEURS NATURE curl extender mascara

midnight smoke

pretty easy & conservative..just mixing the shades of blue from the RIMMEL palette

the darker blue is lined at the crease of the eyelid, the lighter blue is spreaded & gradually fanning out towards the edge of the eye

uh oh i've used the laura mercier foundation to bring out the colours :)

what i love about blue is it matches with my clothes (mainly black, white, cool colours), yet refreshes the outlook overall

brown eyeliner to blend with your skin, while shaping the eye

then NATIO black sparkle dust to line the crease of eyelid

pink sparkle dust blended and spreaded above the black

foundation is important to get the liquid, metallic sparkle, instead of the powdery sparkles :)

i tend to spread the lighter colours over the inner edge of eye to brighten up the corner

what i like about this pink is that its not too loud & doesn't look like u get punched at the eye

so today..
G invited me for group studying with other ppl, including X
i said i can't make it, i haven't prepare anyth..i dono wat to contribute
plus, i'm meeting K to pass K my design boards to print out for the exhb & moderation

afternoon, i wanted to go uni n download notes using uni internet
so i msn-ed X to ask where r u guys, i'd like to come n join
as i was going to type the 3rd sentence saying i want to chat with u guys while downloading lecture notes
boring to sit there alone n download those notes
before i type finish the 3rd sentence, G suddenly msn me saying that they hv alrd started group studying & they all hv alrd research on a lot of info, they don't want so many ppl to join the group anymore
and so i asked i haven't even type finish and wat's with the accusations of leeching? wth i was talking to X not even u (G)

X msn-ed asking that i'm disappointed because G rejected me out from the study group is it?
that was never a question in place at all
G tried to clarify that he was explaining the whole situation to me, just in case i go there n then get angry because i went to uni n wasted my time
oh well..i don't find it very convincing
although deep down in my heart i was half hoping that this is really really a msn misunderstanding & not because my close friends really view me as a leecher

wat's with the they all they all? who is the one making assumptions?
i hate collective nouns like that because it can be used for pushing accusations to no direct identity
i dono who is making the leecher assumptions..X or G or the other ppl in the group?

maybe i'm having high expectations from close friends or friends whom seemingly know me enough
maybe i'm just an ultra-sensitive person, maybe i'm just petty

i bumped into Y and says that Y heard G blabbering abt "leeching off ppl's notes"
i wonder..sometimes i can't tell the intentions of ppl, they mean good or ill

my heart aches when i'm being accused of things that i'm not, all i can do is cry cry cry in front of my laptop
i also realised that i can't sit there with them anyways, because i might HEAR their discussions uh oh *rolls eyes*

i really really want to be a self-sufficient person so that i don't need to depend on anybody at all in any situation as much as i can. i really don't want to cause trouble to ppl, i don't want to rely on ppl and being perceived not as independent as i thought i am, i don't want ppl to complain that i'm a difficult person

yinling says sometimes situations depends on your frame of your mind, how you view the situation
i love her for her objective and mature advices sometimes
i'll try to look at the situation lightly and not dramatise things

the whole thing that happened is a small matter, just that the intentions and notions of ppl bothers me a lot.

TSF 2nd anniversary perf

sunday, 7th nov, is TSF's 2nd anniversary performance
just in case u don't know what is TSF (The Salsa Foundation), it is a dance school runned by Jai & Ange, the dance school that i first started salsa :)

time flies and it's already 2 years since I've started learning salsa
thanks to both of them, my salsa skills improved leaps and bounds during the course of 2 years
i'm proud to say that i'm getting more n more polished with my techniques
even though i had been really busy with uni & didn't go to much classes this second half of the yr

the great thing about this school is that it is not entirely a relationship of teacher and students, but a family came together because of the passion of dance itself
i'm glad that my salsa journey started from TSF and knowing that salsa is all about fun and making friends

hence, the link below is my performance with a few ppl to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of TSF
mind u, it's a really challenging routine that my partner got injured on his shoulders and another girl got injured at her leg..it took longer hours of practice than most routines to nail it

juggling between dance practice & design presentation boards
physically & mentally demanding

glad that presentation ended today
had really positive feedbacks from the crits.phew
but i stuffed up my presentation talking :(

totally zoned out..haih :/

LMAO we submitted two copies of group report on friday itself
really kayu lor my group mates-_- wth

if u didn't know what was friday, it was the day whr all archi students hv to submit their final project presentation panels by 5pm in a cd
amidst the stress, miscommunications tend to happen
our report is also to be submitted on the same day itself -_-

so here is how it goes..
girl A: volunteered to print the report, so she sorted out the appendix and final check on the format n whatnots
girl B: day dreaming in the group meeting, didn't know who was going to print for submission
girl B emailed everyone to ask who is going to print for submission
no one replied because everyone is stressing on completing the final submission for studio
boy A was stressed so he just asked girl B to go go go
girl B printed then girl A of course was unhappy because girl A wasted time & effort to do the thing

damn..the girl A version has all my appendix but the girl B version doesn't have any of my appendix
it will mean that i didn't do any simulation for energy modelling *_*

this is my 200th post :D
it is amazing how i started off writing sparsely..n slowly grew fond of writing
then it sort of become a habit of mine :)
i used to hv a blog/friendster/neopets before this, but because of my hangat-hangat tahi ayamness, it was left inactive for god knows how long n eventually disappear into thin air
i never had patience & will strong enough to maintain sth this long, other than ehem! architecture..tvxq..kpop..pretty boys..piano..laughing..sleeping..
ugh..talk abt sleeping, it seems lk a far-fetched dream :s

i'd say i've found peace in blogging
whether its happy or sad or interesting pieces, my blog serves as a channel for me to vent feelings, share stuffs, fill up my time and also procrastinate when i do asgmts haha

i hope that by the time i reached 500th post, i'd look back at my life and feel proud knowing that my years aren't wasted

to an extent where we couldn't even imagine what else can humans do to their kids

there are cases where they gave birth to kids, starve them, neglect them, to a point where the judge had to assign their kids to social welfare groups
taping the kid on the wall?
let the kids shit everywhere without cleaning?
make the kids beg for dog food?
let the kids run around naked?
punish kids stand for hours n hours?
let the dog take care of the kid?
put kids in the car boot to send them home?
and the list goes on..can u imagine urself doing these?

the unlucky ones die before help came to them.
the dead body weighs a mere single digit number only

there are cases where they gave birth to the baby and bury them alive in backyards or anywhere
not just one baby being buried, the more times they get pregnant, the more they bury
nobody will know that they are pregnant even.
these murderers i observed, will be a famous person, notable & well-respected in their community

humanity is plummeting. what is wrong with us humans?
negligence seem like a murder weapon that kills ppl slowly
this is depressing..
my heart cringe every time i read news about kids going thru things like that
i cry when i think of the unimaginable level that parents could do to their kids
i want to help these kids, shower them with love that they deserve

today's agenda:

-submitted the essay
-met james for es to tidy up our report (supposedly meet at 10am)
-return lots books to ballieu library & ERC (still haven't return all of them yet..too heavy..need multiple rounds)
-finally reached home to eat the long-dued lunch

she is my housenate/best friend/confidante/coursemates/ex-Mr Yeoh physics tuition classmate/groupmate of many asgmts/my maid and cook and cleaner and bully target WHAHAHA ok last one not true
i think 80% of my life is spent with her, really -_-

i tried to "rake/ram?" up sth at 12am
yay!! see! i'm resourceful!!!! :D
initially, i wanted to wake her up n go "SURPRISE!"
but she din sleep the whole prev night & it'll be cruel to wake her up
so i placed it in a fridge n let her find out herself :p
it was a simple choc mint slice + cheerios, yet i'm glad she felt happy abt it

then at night, after my studio crit, we went to nearby brunetti's to eat real cake

the first walk on roof that came into mind, had to be the Yokohama Port Terminal.
love the fluidity created by straight planks and the texture & colour of timber used on the whole roof

Snohetta - Oslo Opera House
this roof spans from roof level to water level, allowing people to swim in the water

3XN - Railyards Cultural Centre
i wonder how ppl walk on a steep roof like this, but i think the dramatic slope is needed to attract ppl to the top though
nevertheless i love this approach of bringing people from ground to sky without the usage of lifts haha, do it like the 'stairway to heaven' style, yo!

so today i'm going to talk abt this..as i haven't mentioned any of this to anyone

no one knows how much i have to go thru during work last yr n during all my dancing classes when ppl don't understand what u r trying to convey & u misunderstand wat ppl say to u
no one knows the entanglement that i faced when speaking with a strong msian accent

no one understands the frustration that i've been thru
no one understands what is the feeling to be malaysian who speaks english yet unable to mingle with all kinds of ppl coz they r constantly being misunderstood

it is sth that i have to adapt during my whole last yr

it was a gathering of studio mates during the long break :)
i treasure moments like this because it's rare to have studio mates gather to do sth else other than just attending studio sessions
now all of us are separated into different studios this sem
everyone is busy with their own studios and everyone has different busy times too
i wonder how long friendships like this can last?

yet i dono how to launch it off.
currently it's these major 2..others i would consider as my pet projects then haha
as yling says i have a dream list n tick them off everytime since i always want to do so many things ahahah
i want to be a successful architect and i want to be a dancer part time as well.
i realise that i love the stage so much.
i don't know what to do to launch it off..how much time needed to invested in it..n all the things u shld know..like how to get to perform as a living etc

i'm lucky to be able to go shanghai expo with partly sponsored by my parents & the dance competition money

now my travelling bug is itching again
i dono how i want to travel, wat kind of travel i want, where do i want to travel

my uni is offering studio exchange to germany in 2011
considering abt that..
coz it'll clash with CNY, need to learn german, winter, portfolio quality
hmmm..deadline is sept 15

there's also AIESIC exchange program which allows us to teach english in any parts of the world, mainly the third world countries n also non-english speaking countries.
many other kinds of activities..need to speak to those ppl to discuss further
will look into details when i'm back msia for hols

so my coming summer hols will be booked with either one..
both also hv abt 6 weeks duration
just want to make my hols useful, instead of rolling in the bed for 3months

then javin & kahming switched course in sem 2

after graduation 3 yrs ago, all of us went separate ways..

some half went UK; half went Aus

then during the 2nd yr, all of us were even more separated by situations

some work in KL; some work in Melb; some continue Masters straightaway

it was even harder to meet up as a group

so grateful for that night which came :o)

2010 is a year of total swap overs, when relationships are concerned.
That is what I realized from my observations around.
single to attached; attached to single.

why say so?
in love, friends who initially had a bf/gf have broke up, especially those in long distance relationship. only TWO of LDRs are standing strong.
even those who were happily in love, are challenged with third party.
tempted by it, there goes the r/ship down the drain;
withstand it, and u come out with stronger than ever bonding.
whereas friends who had been single for god knows how long, got together with another partner. happily in love.

from my POV, there are lessons for everyone to learn by tests given from the higher being.

when lessons couldn't be provided by current situation, other challenges would come forth and teach u a lesson or u'd move on to other things to reach further enlightment.

the saying 'life is like a lesson' doesn't come as nothing/meaningless.

case 1:
FH gone from giving 100% to love, to distrust and despise love.
I on the other hand, started from having difficulty trusting others wholly and focusing on my friends & career, has tried opening up myself more and show more of my humanitarian side. tho I'm still trying to eliminate this innate shyness in me. I'm still trying to balance out things between relationships, friendships and studies.

case 2:
YP met a friend from her place, felt too hard to let him go & was in a dilemma to sort things out with her long distance bf. In the end, she broke up with her bf & got together with the guy from her place.
There is no party to blame because everything is changing every time. There is no permanent in this world. When things started to change (sometimes it's deemed as negative now), maybe that's the time whr things have to let go in order for other things to come forth. So there is no fault on any ends because it is simply the time for one to leave the current one and moved on to another one to receive the lessons of life.

some ppl stay in their job for 40 years to work their way up for the stable life provided by the familiar surroundings
some ppl change jobs every now n then for fear they get stuck in the same position for many years down the road

i watched a documentary about chris mcdougal aka douggs, a famous base jumper in australia
he talks about how hugs are so heartfelt to him because he doesn't know when will he not see them again, especially when he gone thru the pain that his friends and fiance died from base jumping accidents.
yet those ppl r the ones that he could relate to the most because they share the same passion, thus outlook of life too.

hence, inspired me to write abt comfort & change in this post.
everytime when i get comfortable with routine of life, insecurities start plunging in.
then i'd restlessly search for sth to break this comfort.
the more i throw myself in an unknown area, the more comfortable i feel.
and once i feel comfortable again, i'll get unconfortable again.
what is this?-_-
i guess..that when i'm emo n felt that everything is wrong or annoying

last yr, i started learning salsa, everything started from zero, from socialising to dancing itself.
it was the most comfortable place i've felt for the past yr.
from braving myself to talk to strangers, to express myself with body language that i've never thought of, to explore the potential that the physical body could achieve, to immerse myself with the rhythm of music
but this yr, because i've made so many great friends, i felt comfortable with my circle of close friends, hence the timid me reborn again.
when my salsa frens started to slowly leave one by one (due to visa) or simply just moved on with life, i've found history has repeated itself again.
i get emotional abt ppl leaving, i seldom take the initiative to talk to strangers, i only open up to ppl who are close to me those times..
then i realise why i wanted to social dance so much.
i wanted to plunge myself in a sea of strangers n felt comfortable again.

friends

these few days I've been thinking about the friends I've made for the past few years..

I feel like I don't really belong to any group of friends, despite having a few groups of friends that i regularly hang out with.
It's very lonely to feel that you don't actually connect to any group, yet you feel connected at the same time. So my emotions will fluctuate like the melbourne weather.
I understand this because compared to them who always stick together most of the time, I spent relatively less time with each group of friends because of the time divided to be with each group.
That is why I feel like I miss out certain things when I'm with each group.

Why do I have to feel this loneliness?

I suddenly miss the great ol' times with Yew Cien, Carine & Yin Ling.
I miss those times where we always eat,sleep,talk,play together.
now all of us have gone separate ways..diff countries..
when could we have those times again?

However, I shouldn't be unsatisfied with what I have now.
Who could ever meet a true friend in their life?
Yes. I have one true friend whom I know will stick thru thick n thin with me.
I'm very very touched by her help even though she should be enjoying hols now.
She has this unlimited patience, never calculative, and always reminds me of stuff becuase of my forgetful chacracter.
She will always be there and so supportive of whatever that I've went through. She doesn't judge me for my actions. She is just there, always ready to listen and help.
I am truly truly grateful for having such a great friend.

This is an anger post, don't read if u don't wish to be affected or so.

yes. we argued. it is a petty thing. started from me asking where the heck is the bloody file that you want to pass to me. i just can't find it if u throw it into a fat folder and ask me to slowly find it. i want to focus on writing the report but time is wasted on finding the stupid file.

then u started digging out old stuffs? HELLO. i'm just pestering u about the stupid files?
i understand u want to help out by highlighting stuffs that r important? but i think it is faster for me to skim thru the number of files that i already have than to slowly find where the heck is it in the bloody tdrive? can't u just do a simple thing like make the folder a name that i understand instead of hiding it inside? so i can find it without even pestering u?

see, it's just a small thing. at first i argued n argued with u then i realise i'm wasting time.
i just shouted OK to end it because i didn't want to argue anymore. yes, you win.
i got things to do later, that's why i wanted to type out my info as much as i can first? but u make me slowly browse thru the stupid folders. that's why i don't want to waste time continuing arguing with you about OLD stuffs?

YES I'm unhappy by the way u said that most of the research files that I've found is useless? but when i saw the folder you have them in it? then u say u got no time to read it but u wanted to do that? so why u want to bring me down by saying like i'm useless?

i don't manage people's time because i believe at this age, u r smart enough to handle it yourself.

either one of us have to soften to make the project progress, because we want things our own way and wouldn't approve each other. so if i don't follow your leadership and keep insisting to run it my way, will it bring progress to the bloody thing?

in a nutshell, we aren't meant to work together in a group.

1. u r too hard-headed, which i'm also stubborn in a way.
2. i'm slow at getting things, maybe to u it means stupid, yes it's frustrated to explain things to me until i get it, it is also frustrating on my end to try to understand what u mean.
3. i don't work the same way as u are: i can't tell why certain things have to work that way but it will point me out at the end.
4. stop whining. just do it.

i guess i'm more of an individualist because i don't c things the way u wanted.

i reluctantly went to kirk's belated bday dinner at sushi's house
(lots of assignments to work on still.omgwhydidievengoplay)
i'm glad that i managed to make a bday card in time :)

however, i didn't regret spending time with my relatives
it was a great night spending time with my cousins
filled with laughter
we played DJ Hero (boring,lame like hell) & Taken? (westernised version of street fighter)

omg ATE NON STOP too!
first we had hotpot, then ice-cream, then tong shui D:
in between, we found out jo bought a soda maker, so we made n tried them

OUR BODIES GIVE US PLENTY OF SIGNALS WHEN WE'RE TIRED, but some of us are so used to being sleep deprived that we remain oblivious to how impaired we really are. Sleep debt isn't something you can pay off in a weekend, researchers say--it can take weeks of building up restorative sleep habits. In the meantime, here are some signs you might be sleep deprived, and temporary fixes while you get your sleep schedule back on track.

1 YOU'RE FLUMMOXED BY EVEN SIMPLE DECISIONS
You're up late one night booking your next vacation, and even though you know the dates and destination, you're overwhelmed by minor details. Should you get a refundable ticket? Window or aisle seat? Rent a car now or later? When you're tired, you're less able to distinguish between important and irrelevant information, such as your seat assignment, according to Sean Drummond, PhD, a sleep researcher at the University of California, San Diego. The result: Even the simplest decision takes on exaggerated importance.
Tired people also take riskier gambles to maximize results (Maybe if I wait until the last minute, the ticket price will go down) and have trouble adjusting to changing circumstances (like firming up an itinerary if flying from an unfamiliar airport).

2 YOU'VE BEEN EATING ALL DAY, AND YOU'RE STILL HUNGRY!
Studies show that chronic sleep loss can disrupt blood sugar levels and cause the body to produce less leptin, a hormone that curbs appetite, and more ghrelin, leptin's hunger-stimulating counterpart. Because of these physiological changes, you may be more likely to overeat when you skimp on sleep--and the food you pick probably won't be either nutritious or a lasting source of energy. Tired people tend to be particularly drawn to sugars and other simple carbohydrates, probably because the body is looking for a quick pick-me-up, says Lisa Shives, MD, a spokesperson for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Sleep deprivation also tends to erode self-control, making you more likely to choose a brownie over carrot sticks.

3 YOU KEEP COMING DOWN WITH COLDS
People who get inadequate sleep are more vulnerable to infection than those who are well rested, says William Kohler, MD, medical director of the Florida Sleep Institute. In one study, researchers injected healthy volunteers with a cold virus. Those who slept less than 7 hours a night for the previous week were 3 times more likely to develop symptoms than those who got 8 hours or more. In another study, people who got only 4 hours of sleep for several nights in a row had a weaker immune response to the flu vaccine than those who slept between 7-5 and 8.5 hours.

4 THE BALLADS ON AMERICAN IDOL MOVE YOU TO TEARS
Don't automatically chalk up your sudden weepiness to PMS: Without sleep, you are more emotionally volatile. In one brain-imaging study, for example, people who missed a night of sleep and viewed disturbing images had 60% more activity in the amygdala, which is involved in processing fear and anxiety, compared with better-rested volunteers. The study also found that the sleepy volunteers' amygdala communicated less with the part of the brain that determines appropriate emotional responses, suggesting that they weren't doing a good job of tempering their emotions.
When we're sleep deprived, we may also feel glum because tired brains store negative memories more effectively than positive or neutral ones. As a result of all this, Shives says, "If you are chronically sleep deprived, you could act like someone with depression."

5 YOU'VE BECOME A KLUTZ
One moment you're brewing a cup of afternoon tea and the next thing you know, you've spilled it all over your new dress. Researchers have accumulated ample evidence that the sleep deprived have slower and less precise motor skills, but exactly why isn't yet known, says Clete Kushida, MD, PhD, director of Stanford University Center for Human Sleep Research. Sleepy people may be clumsier for several reasons: Impaired reflexes and a lack of focus may make it hard for them to react quickly enough to things that spring up in their path. Another possibility: Sleepiness throws off balance or depth perception. In any case, it's not uncommon for very sleepy people to black out momentarily when the body's urge to sleep gets too strong. So it's possible that your klutziness stems from "microsleeps" that last for a second or two, Kushida says--just long enough to trip on the curb or drop a glass.

YOUR High-Energy RECOVERY PLAN

To erase your sleep debt (it may take several weeks), aim for 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Meanwhile, here's how to suppress daytime fogginess, stay alert, and get deeper Zzzs.

In the Morning
SOAK UP THE SUN
Morning rays boost energy by suppressing the sleepiness-inducing hormone melatonin. An early morning walk will help sync your internal clock to the sun, averting an energy slump in the afternoon.
Early Evening

REENERGIZE WITH EXERCISE
Even though you're tired, forcing yourself to do aerobic exercise will energize you for a couple of hours and make it easier to fall asleep at night. Your body temperature naturally falls at night, shortly before bedtime, so the natural dip in temperature that happens about 2 hours after a workout can help you get to bed at a decent hour and wake up refreshed the next morning.

After Lunch
TIME YOUR NAP
Research shows that naps, especially "power naps" of 20 to 30 minutes, help ward off fatigue. To maximize the benefits, try to take a siesta after lunch, when your energy levels are particularly low. Limit rest to less than 30 minutes, or stretch it out to 60 to 90 minutes to avoid grogginess that results from waking up in the middle of deep sleep.

All Day
WORK ON SOMETHING INTERESTING
Even tired people pay better attention to tasks they find mentally stimulating. So even though you might be tempted to go for the mindless stuff--filing, folding laundry--you'll be more alert if you pick a project that intrigues you.

EAT FOR STAMINA
Big meals and high-sugar foods can cause blood sugar to spike, then plummet, so every few hours while you're recovering, eat a snack (about 100 calories), or try smaller meals (of no more than 400 calories) that contain complex carbohydrates, some protein, and a small amount of healthy fat. Try a handful of nuts or reduced-fat cheese and crackers at low-energy times of the day--typically, early morning and late afternoon.

As Needed
BOOST YOUR CAFFEINE
Sugary "energy drinks" can be hidden calorie traps, but researchers think there is something about the combination of sugar and caffeine that makes people more alert than caffeine alone does. Next time you are feeling particularly brain-dead, add a tablespoon of honey to your tea or stir a spoonful of sugar into your espresso. And to keep yourself from reaching that state to begin with, try divvying up your one big mug of coffee in the morning into several coffee breaks throughout the day.
